Asia Cup: Rain continues in Kandy, India-Pakistan match cancelled
The High Voltage Group A match in the Asia Cup was canceled due to continuous rain in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
After the cancellation of the match, both the teams were given one point, with which Pakistan qualified for the Super Four stage.
India scored 266 runs on the board while batting first in this match played at Pali Kele.
India's Rohit Sharma and Shibman Gul batted while Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi started the match with bowling.
The match had to be stopped due to rain shortly after the start of the match, at which time India had scored 15 runs without a wicket in 4.2 overs
When the game started after the rain stopped, Shaheen Afridi immediately bowled the Indian captain for 11 runs and gave Pakistan their first win.
Shaheen Afridi took India's first wicket by conceding 15 runs in the 5th over of the innings.
In 6.3 overs of the innings, Shaheen Afridi also took India's second wicket for 27 runs when he bowled Virat Kohli for 4 runs.

India's third wicket fell to Haris Rauf on 48 when he caught Shreyas Iyer for 14.
Shibman Gill and Ishan Kishan tried to push the team's score forward but Gill was bowled by Haris Rauf for a total score of 66, he scored 10 runs.
After that, on the fifth wicket, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya started the rescue process for their team and showed responsible play by making a partnership of 138 runs to color the big total.
Both batsmen were on their way to a century after completing half-centuries when Haris Rauf finally broke the dangerous partnership in the 38th over.
He caught Ishan Kishan out, Kishan played a brilliant innings of 82 runs off 81 balls.
After him, Shaheen Afridi guided Hardik Pandya and then Ravindra Jadeja to the pavilion in his eighth over
Hardik Pandya despite the pressure played a brilliant innings of 87 runs while Ravindra Jadeja scored 14 runs.
On the first ball of the next over, Naseem Shah caught Shirdal Thakur out and started India's journey towards a big total.
In the closing moments, Jasprit Bumrah scored 16 runs to take the team to a total score of 266. In the 49th over, Naseem Shah first caught out Kuldeep Yadav and then Jasprit Bumrah.
All 10 wickets of Pakistan were taken by fast bowlers. Shaheen Afridi was the most successful bowler with 4 wickets while Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah took 3 and 3 wickets respectively.
After the Indian innings, the rain continued intermittently in the stadium due to which the match could not start till the cut-off time, due to which the match was announced to be cancelled.
It should be noted that India won the toss against Pakistan and decided to bat first at the Pali Banana Stadium.
Talking after the toss, Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam said that we would have won the toss and batted first.
On this occasion, Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma said that he will increase the pressure on Pakistan by scoring well.
