Advantages of distance education system

Distance Education 

With the advent of this system, the literacy rate has increased. Under this system, all those people, including government employees, businessmen, who cannot reach the traditional education system for any reason, are getting education. Due to the responsibilities of marriage at a young age, they cannot maintain their educational continuity or suspend their educational activities for a long period of time due to any compulsion. If they cannot get admission, they benefit from the distance education system where there is no age limit.

A large number of women do not like to go to mixed education system due to religious principles and customs.

Weekly, days in a week, three days or according to their conditions, different universities have determined the academic days and times. Due to the short time, students save a lot in terms of rent, accommodation, clothes and mess, and even poor students. Equally benefiting from this system.

Demands of distance system students

Before compiling this article, we contacted the students of different universities of Pakistan and went to some universities to listen to the problems of the students and their demands.

1: There should be permanent posts of teachers for the distance education system and international standards should be taken into account in the recruitment of teachers and not those who hold degree papers should be recruited from here and there. Or regular professors teach them.

2. Libraries of universities should be opened for students of distance learning system on Saturdays and Sundays.

3. In the distance system, since the students come from far away places, they are students of the university, so it is the duty of the management to accommodate them in the university during workshops, papers and classes on reasonable charges.

4. The students also expressed their sorrow that some universities keep extending their first midterms by various tricks so that maximum number of students can be included and they can fill their coffers, due to which the valuable time of the students is lost.

The students of some universities said that their four semesters have been completed, but despite the passage of four or five months, the university did not issue them with their degree.

4. In the distance education system, a proper mechanism of discount or installments should be established for deserving students. Because the fee of distance programs of some universities is double than the regular fee, it becomes difficult for students to pay in one lump sum.

5. Schemes like laptops, tablets, scholarships and fee refunds should also be in place for the distance education system.

7. Marking of students' exercises and papers by various illegal means should be discouraged. This makes hard work of hardworking students fruitless and has bad effects on students' attendance in the university.

8. Universities should introduce classes in science so that B.Sc students are not forced to study in arts.

9. Attendance of study centers and teachers of all departments of universities operating under the distance system. There should be a strict check and balance procedure in the examination procedure. Caught in a trap.

10. Fourteen million male and female students study in Open University every year. Open University has 44 regional offices across the country and 17,000 tutors are performing their duties. It is observed that the rate of female students is more than fifty percent. Along with this, this university will have to modernize its system and improve the system of delivering books to students. Many of its courses require updating.
